Harvest Moon 2026

Its gloomy here today. I am currently writing this on the prep table in the kitchen. There's a tomato sauce simmering on the stove as I stand here with the window open listening to the rain hit the patio roof. This is my favorite type of weather. I love me a gloomy day. Aside from the slight tinge of a headache that I am going to attribute to the rain.

It's a full moon tonight, the Harvest moon. September 26th 2026

I put my moon water our last night and plan to brew some butterfly pea flower tea while i set my intentions for this next season of life.

On this harvest moooooooon....

Areas in my life that have grown this past season:

I have really started creating and holding more boundaries with those closest to me.

Sometimes old dynamics cross over from childhood into adulthood-those dynamics are not always healthy and I am proud of myself for putting forth the effort in not tolerating things/dynamics that no longer serve me.

I have learned to let grief in. It is okay to be sad when something sad has happened.

What I am taking into this next season:

Focus on rest and care. I havent been taking care of myself like i would like/deserve. I have been in survival for awhile now and that has taken its toll on my mental and physical health. Life is starting to feel less like i am drowning at the bottom of the ocea with an anchor around my ankle and more like I am still at the bottom of the ocean but I broke the anchor off. Now its time to start trying to swim to the surface.

I will continue to give myself grace. It hasn't been an easy road to here and there are wounds that forever will need tending to. I am looking forward to the Fall/winter months to come, to put time in attention to those wounds. They don't just go away-i feel likes its a slight betrayal to myself to act like those parts of my life didn't exist. I have to learn to co-exist with them instead of blocking them out.

I made my tea and as I drank it i said outloud what I want in the seasons to come:

To focus inward. Pour into myself so I can more into others

Create for the sake of creating and not for the money-the money will follow.

My kids will learn to care for themselves by watching me care for myself.

My children are not a burden-this time with them is sacred

It is time to rest. Don't overcrowd your schedule-sometimes less is more.
